What Alomations can access in your Etsy shop

What the official Etsy API connection lets Alomations do in your shop, what it does not, and how to revoke access from Etsy whenever you want.

Connecting your shop gives Alomations access, through the official Etsy API, to create and edit listings, read your listings, shop profiles and orders, and post tracking back to Etsy. You approve that access on Etsy's own sign-in screen, Alomations never receives your Etsy password, and you can revoke the access from Etsy at any time.

This is for sellers about to connect a shop who want to know exactly what they are agreeing to, and for anyone who connected a while ago and wants to check. Giving a tool access to the shop that pays your bills deserves a plain answer, so this article covers how the connection works, what it is used for, what it is not, and how to end it.

How the connection works

Alomations connects through the official Etsy API using OAuth. In practice, you click connect, Etsy's own sign-in screen opens, you sign in there and approve access, and Etsy sends you back. It takes under two minutes. Because you sign in on Etsy's page, your password stays between you and Etsy. Our guide to what the Etsy API is explains the idea, and connecting your Etsy shop to Alomations shows each step.

Alomations is not affiliated with Etsy. It uses the official Etsy API and is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc. Your shop stays subject to Etsy's own rules and fees: a listing published through the connection is an ordinary Etsy listing, so the $0.20 listing fee applies to it as to any other.

What Alomations does with the access

Every use of the connection maps to something you can see in the app. The table lists them.

AreaWhat Alomations doesWhen it happens
New listingsPublishes a run live, or saves it as an Etsy draftWhen you start a run, or a listing you scheduled goes out
Existing listingsShows active and draft listings, bulk edits prices, tags, variations and schedules, deactivates in bulkWhen you confirm the edit
Listing contentRewrites a live listing's title, tags and description with Update SEO, swaps its mockupsWhen you choose the listing
CopiesCopies a listing to another connected shop as a draftWhen you pick the target shop
Shop profilesReads your shipping, return and processing profiles for templatesWhen you build a template or press Refresh from Etsy
OrdersBrings Etsy orders in with the design and variant matched and the buyer's personalization text and photos attachedAs orders arrive
TrackingPosts the tracking number back to Etsy where Etsy allows itWhen a fulfilled order ships
Answers and reportsReads your shop for Aloma, listing scores and the shop reportWhen you ask a question or open a report

Two details help. When Aloma, the AI assistant, answers a question about your shop, each number says when it was read, so you know how fresh it is. And the listings manager, which shows every connected shop's active and draft listings, is open on every plan, Free included, so you can see what the connection reads before you publish anything new. Our guides to the listings manager and the orders screen show both in detail.

Changes happen when you ask for them

Access to edit is not the same as editing on its own. Changes to your shop come from actions you take:

  • A run publishes live or as an Etsy draft, one setting you choose on the run. Our guide to live, draft or drip publishing compares the options.

  • Bulk edits and bulk deactivation apply when you confirm them.

  • Scheduled publishing and drip publishing follow the schedule you set.

  • When Aloma makes listings for you, it shows the plan and its credit cost first, can make two samples, and pauses when a choice is yours.

Live is the direct route: the listing goes up in your shop when the run finishes. Draft is there for the times you prefer to look at a listing in Etsy first.

What the connection is not

  • It is not your login. Alomations works through the access Etsy grants after you approve it, not through your password.

  • It is not Etsy. Alomations does not speak for Etsy, and Etsy's policies, fees and support still apply to your shop.

  • It is not every shop you own. Alomations works with the shops you connect, and a second shop takes part in runs and the listings manager only after you connect it too.

How to revoke access, and what happens next

You can revoke Alomations' access at any time from your Etsy account, on Etsy's side, without needing anything from us. Etsy moves its settings from time to time, so if you cannot find the place, Etsy's Help Center or Etsy support can point you to the current setting.

After you revoke:

  • Alomations can no longer publish to, edit or read that shop.

  • New orders from that shop stop arriving in the orders screen, and tracking can no longer be posted back.

  • Listings already published stay in your shop. They are Etsy listings, and they belong to your shop, not to the app.

If you have orders in production, let them ship before you revoke so the tracking reaches Etsy. To come back later, connect again through the same Etsy sign-in.

While you are in your Etsy settings, keep two-factor authentication on. Etsy requires sellers to set it up when opening a shop, and keeping it on protects the account itself.

Frequently asked questions

Can Alomations see my Etsy password?

No. You sign in on Etsy's own screen, and Alomations receives access through the official Etsy API, not your password.

Will Alomations publish listings without me?

It publishes what you start or schedule. Each run is set to live or draft, scheduled and drip publishing follow your schedule, and Aloma shows its plan and credit cost before it lists.

What happens to my listings if I disconnect?

They stay in your Etsy shop as ordinary listings. Alomations simply stops being able to change them, and new orders stop arriving in the app.

Is Alomations endorsed by Etsy?

No. Alomations uses the official Etsy API, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.

Connect a shop on the Alomations free plan and look through your own listings in the listings manager before you publish anything new.
