Workflow: from idea to 50 listings in a day

A worked day plan for turning one collection idea into 50 Etsy listings with Aloma, one template, two samples, Bulk Automate and scheduled publishing, with credits counted up front.

You can go from one collection idea to 50 finished Etsy listings in a working day by planning the collection first, building one template, checking two samples, and then letting Bulk Automate turn the rest into listings that go live over time. The credit cost is predictable before you start: about 10 credits per listing from an AI-generated design and about 4 from a design you upload, so 50 listings cost roughly 200 to 500 credits.

This plan is for sellers with a connected Etsy shop who want to create Etsy listings fast without cutting corners on quality. It is a worked example, not a speed guarantee: run times vary, and the parts that need your judgement (the idea, the template, the samples) are where most of your day goes.

Before the day: three things to have ready

  • A connected shop. Alomations connects through the official Etsy API on Etsy's own sign-in screen, in under two minutes, and you can revoke the connection from Etsy at any time.

  • One collection idea with a clear buyer. Retro camping shirts for families who camp every summer gives you far more to work with than camping on its own.

  • A decision on how listings go out: live in your shop, as Etsy drafts you check first, or dripped a few a day.

If you have not planned a collection before, designing a collection instead of single designs explains how to build a set of related designs around one buyer.

The credit cost, worked out first

Know the cost before you press anything. In Alomations a full listing costs about 10 credits when the design is AI-generated and about 4 when you upload or reuse a design. No plan caps the number of listings, credits roll over up to 3x your monthly amount, and top-up packs never expire.

Standard ($99.90, 1,200 credits) and Pro ($169.99, 2,500 credits) give room for more than one collection a month. On Etsy's side, every listing you publish carries Etsy's own $0.20 listing fee, so 50 published listings add $10 in Etsy fees, separate from credits. Our guide to how Alomations credits work covers rollover and top-ups in more detail.

Morning: from one idea to a plan

Option A: let Aloma plan the collection

Describe the collection to Aloma, the AI assistant, from the top bar or the Cmd+K command palette. Aloma finds ideas, shows you the plan and its credit cost, and can make two samples first before it lists the rest. It pauses when a choice is yours, and anything not made returns to your balance. Our walkthrough of Aloma collections follows a full collection from request to listings.

Option B: bring your own designs

If you design in your own tools, bulk upload the files into the Design Library, where folders, search and source filters keep the collection together. Uploaded designs are the lower-cost route at about 4 credits per listing.

Either way, spend the morning on what only you can decide: the designs, the phrases and who each one is for.

Late morning: one template for the whole collection

A template holds everything that stays the same across the collection: the product and category, price, sizes and colours, materials, SKUs, and the shipping, return and processing profiles. Build it once and every listing in the batch uses it. On a paid plan, saved variation profiles keep size and colour sets that you reuse in every template, and multi-shop runs send one collection to several connected shops, each with its own template. Building your first listing template walks through each field.

Set your SEO preferences while you are here. Etsy titles can be up to 140 characters and a listing can carry up to 13 tags. Alomations writes the title, all 13 tags and the description for every listing, and your title length and tag style preferences apply to the whole batch.

Midday: check two samples before the rest

Two samples are cheap insurance. Make them, then look at each with a buyer's eyes.

  1. The print file: it should come back print-ready at 12 inches and 300 DPI (3,600 pixels on the long side), as a transparent PNG with an SVG, in light and dark versions for white and dark garments.

  2. The mockups: check that the design sits where you want it on every colour. Mockup preview (on paid plans) shows every colour and side before the run.

  3. The copy: the product should be named correctly, a long-sleeve shirt should never be called a tee, and personalized designs should say Custom or Personalized.

  4. The template values: price, sizes and profiles should be exactly what you intended.

If something is off, fix the template or the design now. A mistake caught at sample two is cheap to fix, while the same mistake found at listing 48 means 48 edits.

Afternoon: Bulk Automate the rest, then schedule

If Aloma planned the collection, it lists the rest itself once you are happy with the samples. For designs you brought yourself, select the remaining ones and start Bulk Automate. Each selected design becomes its own listing with its own mockups, title, 13 tags and description, built on your template. Choose how they go out: live in your shop, as Etsy drafts for a final look, or dripped a few a day. Our guide to Bulk Automate covers each option.

On paid plans, scheduled publishing queues listings to go live over time, so 50 listings made today can reach your shop over the following weeks instead of all at once. Runs appear in the live queue and in run history while you get on with other work. A listing with one mockup starts at about 90 seconds, and it varies.

Once a listing is published, Etsy says it may take up to 48 hours to appear in search results and categories, so judge results over days, not hours. At the end of the day, open the listings manager: every listing is there with filters, a score made of ten checks with the fix for each, and bulk edits if a price needs to change.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do a 50-listing day on the Free plan?

Not in one go. The Free plan gives 40 credits a month once your shop is connected, which is about 4 to 6 full listings. It is a good way to test the workflow on a few designs before you commit to a bigger batch.

Is it better to publish 50 listings at once or spread them out?

Both work, and the choice is yours. Spreading them out with drip or scheduled publishing gives your shop a steady flow of new listings and leaves time to adjust if the first ones need changes.

What happens if a design in the batch is wrong?

If you publish as drafts, nothing reaches buyers until you publish it on Etsy. With Aloma, the run pauses when a choice is yours, and anything not made returns to your balance. After publishing, the listings manager lets you bulk edit prices and tags or deactivate listings.

How long does each listing take?

A run starts at about 90 seconds for a listing with one mockup, and it varies. The bigger time cost is yours: choosing the idea, building the template and checking the samples.

You can test this workflow on a few designs with the free plan and move up when a full collection is ready.
