When you make a sale on Etsy, the money first lands in your Etsy Payment account, and Etsy then deposits it to your bank on the schedule you choose: daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly. New sellers start on a weekly deposit every Monday, and a standard bank transfer can take 1-5 business days to show up in your account.

This guide is for sellers who have just made their first sales or are about to, with extra detail for sellers in Türkiye. In print on demand you pay the production cost when the order comes in, while the Etsy money reaches your bank days or sometimes weeks later. Knowing that gap in advance is what lets you plan your cash without getting squeezed.

Where the money goes first

However the buyer pays, the funds go to your Etsy Payment account first. From there you manage when, and on what schedule, money moves to your bank (Etsy Help). What sellers often call withdrawing money from Etsy is what Etsy calls a deposit: the transfer from your Etsy Payment account to your bank account.

For sellers in Türkiye this runs through Etsy Payments. Türkiye is on Etsy's list of countries eligible for Etsy Payments (Etsy Help) and is not one of the countries that use a Payoneer account (Etsy Help). Because PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, Etsy Payments sellers located there cannot use PayPal (Etsy Help). We cover the setup step by step in getting paid on Etsy from Türkiye.

Your deposit schedule options

Etsy offers four deposit schedules and starts new sellers on the weekly one (Etsy Help):

  • Daily: the most frequent option. Daily deposits have a minimum: 600 TRY for Turkish lira accounts and $25 for US dollar accounts.

  • Weekly: the default for new sellers, paid every Monday.

  • Biweekly: less frequent, larger deposits.

  • Monthly: the least frequent option, one deposit a month.

Sellers in Türkiye should know about one more charge. In certain countries, Etsy charges a deposit fee when a deposit is above the deposit minimum but below the fee threshold (Etsy Help). For Türkiye, the deposit minimum is 50 TRY, the fee threshold is 600 TRY and the deposit fee is 42 TRY (Etsy Help). So a deposit between 50 TRY and 600 TRY loses 42 TRY. Note that these are two different numbers: 50 TRY is the minimum in the deposit-fee table, while 600 TRY is both the daily-deposit minimum and the fee threshold.

That is why frequent deposits are not always better while your balance is small. If your sales are just starting, a biweekly or monthly schedule can let deposits build up past the threshold.

From sale to bank: the timeline

The money from one sale reaches your bank in a few steps. Each step takes a different amount of time, and some of them are in your hands.

Why a new shop's first payouts take longer

If the money from your first sale arrives later than you expected, the cause is usually not a fault but one of the following.

The payment reserve

Some new sellers have a payment reserve on their account. Etsy says the reserved funds are released immediately if it can confirm the order has shipped, and that for most sellers the reserve is removed within 90 days (Etsy Help). Shipping on time with a valid tracking number is therefore the most direct thing you can do to free the money.

Tracking and shipping

In print on demand, the item is printed first and shipped after. The clearest way for Etsy to confirm a shipment is a valid tracking number on the order. Valid tracking also counts for Star Seller and for Etsy Purchase Protection (Etsy Help). The details are in tracking numbers on Etsy.

Schedule and bank

Because the default schedule is weekly, a sale that arrives on a Tuesday joins the following Monday's deposit at the earliest. The bank transfer can then take 1-5 business days, and weekends do not count as business days. We walk through the whole journey in how a sale on Etsy works.

How to plan your cash flow

  • Account for the gap between production cost and Etsy deposits. You pay the production partner when the order comes in, while the Etsy money follows your schedule. In busy weeks, especially before Christmas, keep a buffer that covers a few days of production costs.

  • Know the fees. The Etsy transaction fee is 6.5% of the order total. In Türkiye, payment processing is 6.5% + 14 TRY and the regulatory operating fee is 1.67% (Etsy Help, Etsy Help, Etsy Help). If your listings are in a different currency from your bank account, a 2.5% currency conversion fee applies (Etsy Help). For the full breakdown, see Etsy fees and currency conversion for sellers in Türkiye.

  • Remember refunds. You can refund through Etsy Payments only within 180 days. On a refund made through Shop Manager, the transaction and processing fees for the refunded items are refunded automatically (Etsy Help).

  • Match the schedule to your balance. Small, frequent deposits can run into the 42 TRY fee, while collected deposits bring the money later. Your sales volume decides the balance between the two.

Where Alomations fits in

Moving your Etsy money to your bank runs entirely through Etsy Payments, and Alomations does not change that. What Alomations makes clear is the other half of the cash plan: when you fulfill through our production partners, the orders screen shows the item cost and the shipping separately before you pay from your balance. You know what each order costs you before the Etsy money arrives.

On paid plans, the profit view shows the profit you kept after Etsy fees and product cost on fulfilled orders. Every credit you spend is itemised, and top-up packs and plan credits are counted separately. For per-order tracking, how to track profit per order on Etsy is a good place to start.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my Etsy deposit schedule?

Yes. You can choose between daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly deposits. New sellers start on a weekly deposit every Monday.

What happens if my balance is under 600 TRY?

600 TRY is the daily-deposit minimum for Turkish lira accounts. A deposit between 50 TRY and 600 TRY also carries a 42 TRY deposit fee, so collecting small balances on a less frequent schedule can help you avoid it.

Why hasn't the money from my first sale arrived?

The usual reasons: your account has a payment reserve and the shipment is not confirmed yet, your deposit day has not come, or the bank transfer is still within its 1-5 business days.

Can I get paid through PayPal from Türkiye?

No. Because PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, Etsy Payments sellers located there cannot accept PayPal in their shops.
