Money from your Etsy sales in Türkiye travels through Etsy Payments: it lands in your Etsy Payment account first, and Etsy then deposits it to your Turkish bank account on the schedule you pick. Three settings decide when it arrives and how much of it arrives: your deposit schedule, the currency of your bank account and the currency your listings are priced in.

This guide is for sellers based in Türkiye who have opened a shop, or are about to, and want to understand payouts before the first order comes in. Getting these settings right at the start spares you small fees that repeat every month, and the worry of seeing a sale while nothing reaches the bank.

How Etsy Payments works for sellers in Türkiye

Türkiye is on Etsy's list of countries eligible for Etsy Payments. Sellers in some countries receive their money through a Payoneer account, but Türkiye is not on Etsy's list of Payoneer countries, so a seller here is paid straight to the bank account they connect.

PayPal is where most of the confusion starts. Etsy says that because PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, PayPal is not available to Etsy Payments sellers located in Türkiye, and those sellers cannot accept PayPal in their shops. That does not cut you off from buyers who pay in other ways. In Etsy's words, "No matter how a buyer pays you, the funds will go to your Etsy Payment account." From there, you manage the deposits to your bank.

Etsy Payments also matters before your first sale: Etsy notes that where Etsy Payments is not available, new shops generally cannot open. If you have not opened yours yet, our guide on how to open an Etsy shop from Türkiye walks through every screen.

Connecting a bank account without a name mismatch

During shop setup you connect a bank account, and Etsy verifies your identity with a photo of your government ID and a clear selfie. The ID must not be expired, and it needs to match the name on the bank account you added to get paid. The same setup also requires two-factor authentication as a security measure.

In practice this means an account in someone else's name, such as a spouse's or a relative's, will not match. Before you connect anything, check that the account holder name at your bank matches your ID exactly.

Write down the currency of the account while you are there. As the next sections show, both the daily deposit minimum and the currency conversion fee depend on it.

Deposit schedules: when the money arrives

Etsy can send your Payment account balance to your bank as daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly deposits. New sellers start on a weekly schedule, every Monday, and you can choose a different one.

The daily schedule has a floor: Etsy's daily deposit minimum is TRY 600.00 for Turkish lira accounts and USD 25.00 for US dollar accounts. Standard bank transfers may take up to 1 to 5 business days to appear in your account.

The deposit fee on small deposits

Sellers in Türkiye have one more detail to know. In certain countries, Etsy charges a deposit fee when a deposit is above the deposit minimum but below the fee threshold. For Türkiye, the deposit minimum is 50.00 TRY, the fee threshold is 600.00 TRY and the fee is 42.00 TRY. This 50.00 TRY minimum is a different setting from the TRY 600.00 daily deposit minimum above.

The practical effect: while your sales are still small, a weekly deposit of a modest balance can lose 42 TRY each time. A biweekly or monthly schedule gives the balance more time to pass the 600 TRY threshold before it is sent.

Fees: why the deposit is smaller than the sale

The amount that reaches your bank is not the full sale price, because Etsy's fees are calculated on the same sale. For a seller in Türkiye, the main lines are:

  • Transaction fee: 6.5% of the total order amount, including any shipping you charge.

  • Payment processing fee: 6.5% + 14 TRY for sellers in Türkiye.

  • Regulatory operating fee: 1.67% for sellers located in Türkiye.

  • Currency conversion fee: 2.5% when you list in a currency other than the currency of your payment bank account.

  • Listing fee: $0.20 per listing, paid whether or not the item sells.

The conversion fee is the one your own settings control. If you price your listings in US dollars and get paid into a Turkish lira account, conversion applies to every sale. To see each deduction worked through on one order, read our guide to Etsy fees and currency conversion for sellers in Türkiye. Etsy lists Türkiye among the countries whose sellers can download VAT invoices for seller fees; for how any of this affects your taxes, ask a qualified accountant.

The new-seller reserve and refunds

Some new sellers find part of their balance held in a reserve. Etsy's payment reserve page says the reserved funds are released as soon as Etsy can confirm the order has shipped, and that for most sellers the reserve is removed within 90 days. That makes a valid tracking number about more than the buyer's peace of mind: it is also what frees your money. Our guide on tracking numbers on Etsy covers when and how to add them.

Refunds also come out of the Payment account. When you refund through Shop Manager, Etsy's transaction and processing fees for the refunded transactions are automatically refunded, with the processing fee credited in proportion to the refund. You have 180 days to refund through Etsy Payments, after which you can no longer refund an order that way.

Seeing where the money went with Alomations

The money itself always moves inside Etsy Payments, from your Payment account to your bank. What Alomations adds is a clear view of what that money means. On paid plans, the profit view shows the profit you kept on fulfilled orders after Etsy fees and product cost, so a deposit stops being a single number you have to pick apart.

If you fulfill orders through Alomations' production partners, the item cost and shipping are shown separately before you pay from your balance, and every credit you spend is itemised, with top-ups and plan credits counted apart. That puts what Etsy paid you and what production cost you side by side. Our guide on how to track profit per order on Etsy shows the method step by step.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get paid through PayPal on Etsy from Türkiye?

No. Because PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, Etsy Payments sellers located in Türkiye cannot accept PayPal.

Do I need a Payoneer account to receive Etsy payouts?

No. Türkiye is not one of the countries that use a Payoneer account with Etsy Payments. You connect a bank account in your own name when you set up the shop.

When will my first payout reach my bank?

On the schedule you choose. New sellers start on weekly deposits every Monday, and a standard bank transfer may take up to 1 to 5 business days to appear.

Why is part of my first sales held back?

Some new sellers have a payment reserve. Etsy releases the reserved funds once it can confirm the order shipped, and for most sellers the reserve is removed within 90 days.
