For Etsy international shipping from Turkey to US buyers, you have three basic routes: the national post (PTT), international express couriers, and e-commerce logistics companies that consolidate parcels and hand them to a US carrier. Whichever you choose, Etsy now expects sellers outside the US to account for all costs on US-bound orders, including duties and import fees, so your shipping price covers more than the journey itself.
This is for sellers in Türkiye preparing their first US orders or setting up a shipping profile without knowing what to charge. Shipping decides both your margin and the delivery date a buyer expects, and the last part of this guide covers when printing in the US is the simpler route.
Carrier options: post, express and e-commerce logistics
Shipping from Türkiye to the US generally falls into three groups:
Postal service (PTT): usually the more economical and slower option. Choose a tracked service that can be followed on the US side too.
International express couriers: fast, with strong tracking and customs support, but usually the most expensive, even for light parcels.
E-commerce logistics companies: they move parcels in bulk and hand them to a local US carrier, often between the other two on price and speed.
Before you sign up with a carrier, confirm in writing that its tracking works on Etsy and on the US side, whether it can prepay duties, what transit times it quotes and how it calculates weight. Your shipping profile will be built on those answers.
On Etsy, calculated shipping is currently only available to sellers who use USPS or Canada Post. From Türkiye you set fixed-cost shipping, so finding the right figure is your job.
Delivery time: how the buyer's date is built
The delivery date a buyer sees at checkout has two parts: your processing time and the carrier's time in transit. Processing time is, in Etsy's words, how much time you need to get an order ready to ship. It starts the day after purchase and is counted in business days, and weekend orders count as Friday orders.
The ship-by date is the date you commit to ship, and the order must be marked shipped by 11:59pm that day in your shop's time zone. You can extend it once, before it passes, by up to 21 days, after checking with the buyer.
Enter transit time from the realistic estimate your carrier gives you in writing, not its best case. Buyers judge lateness against the estimate they saw, and Etsy Purchase Protection counts an order that arrives 7 or more days after the estimated delivery window as a covered case, so an optimistic estimate makes more parcels count as late. We cover transit times in more detail in how long POD orders take to reach US buyers.
What drives the cost
What a parcel from Türkiye to the US costs you depends on:
Weight and box size: carriers often charge light but bulky parcels by volumetric weight, so keep packaging close to the size of the product.
Service level: tracked or express service costs more, but it makes Etsy's tracking and protection rules easier to meet.
Duties and import fees: according to Etsy's June 2026 update, starting July 9 sellers outside the US need to account for all of their costs, including duties and import fees. Orders shipped without duties prepaid no longer qualify for Etsy Purchase Protection. For customs and tax details, check Etsy's help pages or a licensed customs broker.
Etsy fees: the 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping when you charge buyers for it. For sellers in Türkiye the payment processing fee is 6.5% + 14 TRY, taken from the total including shipping, and the 1.67% regulatory operating fee is charged on the item price and shipping too.
For orders with more than one item, Etsy adds the most expensive "One item" rate to each other item's "Additional item" rate. Set the additional-item rate to zero and you pay the difference on a two-shirt parcel yourself. Our guide to Etsy fees and currency conversion for sellers in Türkiye works through a full sale.
Shipping profiles, tracking and Purchase Protection
On Etsy, a listing can be connected to only one shipping profile and can have only one shipping origin. If you ship some products from Türkiye yourself and have others printed in the US, set up two profiles and connect each listing to the right one. Our guide to Etsy shipping profiles for print on demand products covers the setup.
Physical orders must have a valid tracking number to qualify towards Star Seller, and Etsy Purchase Protection also requires valid tracking. You have 3 days to correct a tracking number or carrier, as our guide to tracking numbers on Etsy explains.
For approved cases, Purchase Protection covers up to $250 of a refund and you keep your earnings from the sale. To be eligible, the order must ship within your stated processing time, with valid tracking or an Etsy label, the listing must show an estimated delivery date, and duties must be prepaid on US-bound orders.
Ship from Türkiye or print in the US?
If you sell something printed on demand, such as a t-shirt, a sweatshirt or a mug, the real question is whether the product needs to start its journey in Türkiye at all. Etsy allows production partners, including print-on-demand services, as long as the design is the seller's own. When the item is printed and shipped in the US, the parcel never crosses a border.
In return, you must disclose the production partner on the relevant listings. Items you make yourself are not covered by the production partner rule.
| Topic | Shipping it yourself from Türkiye | US production partner |
|---|---|---|
| Where the parcel starts | Türkiye | US |
| Border crossing | On every order | None, the parcel stays in the US |
| Duties and import fees | Must be built into your costs under Etsy's rule | Not part of a domestic shipment |
| Shipping profile origin | Türkiye | US |
| Tracking number | From your carrier, added by you | Comes from the partner's shipment |
| Partner disclosure on Etsy | Not needed for items you make | Required on the relevant listings |
| Best suited to | Handmade items made in Türkiye | Printed apparel and accessories |
Shipping from Türkiye makes sense when the product itself is made there, such as handmade ceramics or weaving. When the product is a print anyway, printing it in the US is usually the shorter and more predictable route to a US buyer.
How Alomations handles this
In Alomations, an Etsy order arrives resolved, with the design and variant matched and any personalization attached. You send the order to production partners from the orders screen. Item cost and shipping are shown separately before you pay from your balance, and the row tells you which print centre has the order. A partner cannot mark an order shipped without a tracking number, and tracking is posted back to Etsy where Etsy allows it. Production for US orders is in the US, and you can still print and ship an order yourself. The orders screen is open on every plan, the free plan included.
The catalog covers Gildan, Bella+Canvas and Comfort Colors apparel, mugs, tumblers and more, printed by DTF for apparel and by sublimation where a product needs it. Prices are listed per product, for example Gildan 5000 from $6.89 (read October 17, 2026), and shipping is quoted separately.
