Multi-shop publishing: one run to several Etsy shops

Selling one design in two or three Etsy shops usually means building the listing again for each. Multi-shop publishing sends one run to several shops, each with its own template, mockups and section.

Multi-shop publishing in Alomations sends one listing run to several of your connected Etsy shops at once, and each shop receives the listing with its own template, its own mockups and its own shop section. You prepare the design and start the run once, instead of rebuilding the same listing by hand in every shop.

This is for sellers who run more than one Etsy shop, for example one shop per niche or per audience, and who keep making designs that belong in two of them. Without a multiple Etsy shops tool, each extra shop means uploading the same files again, writing the listing again and setting prices and profiles again. Whether and how you may run more than one shop is decided by Etsy's own rules, not ours, so read Etsy's policies before opening a second shop. Our guide to running multiple Etsy shops is a good place to start.

What a multi-shop run does

A normal Alomations run turns one design into a finished Etsy listing: print-ready files, rendered mockups, a buyer-intent title within Etsy's 140-character limit, all 13 tags, a description, and your template's prices and variations, published live in your shop or saved as an Etsy draft. Our explainer on how a listing run works goes through it step by step.

A multi-shop run does the same job for several shops in one go:

  1. Pick the design, either uploaded artwork or a design made with AI design generation.

  2. Choose which connected shops it should go to.

  3. For each shop, choose the template, the mockups and the shop section.

  4. Choose live or draft, and start the run.

Each shop ends up with its own listing, built from that shop's settings. You follow the progress in the live queue, and the finished runs stay in your run history.

Two Etsy facts explain why the per-shop column matters. First, every listing Etsy publishes costs the $0.20 listing fee, so a design sent to three shops is three listings and three fees. Weigh that before you send every design everywhere. Second, Etsy connects each listing to one shipping profile and one shipping origin, and shops often differ in where they ship from and what they charge. A template per shop keeps those settings right without editing each listing afterwards.

Setting up each shop before the first run

  1. Connect each shop. The connection runs through the official Etsy API on Etsy's own sign-in screen, takes under two minutes per shop, and can be revoked from Etsy at any time. Our guide to connecting your Etsy shop to Alomations shows the screens.

  2. Build a template per shop. Product and category, price, sizes and colours, materials, SKUs, and that shop's shipping, return and processing profiles. "Refresh from Etsy" pulls in profiles you changed on Etsy, you can arrange prices across sizes, and the bulk Etsy-profile editor updates many templates at once. Our guide to building your first listing template covers every field.

  3. Save variation profiles. A size and colour set saved once can be reused in every template, in every shop, so a shirt offered in the same colours in two shops does not have to be set up twice.

  4. Create the shop sections. Sections live in Etsy. Each shop can have up to 20 custom sections with names of up to 24 characters, and a listing can sit in only one section, so plan the names before your first multi-shop run.

Choosing mockups and a section for each shop

Two shops that share a design rarely present it the same way. A minimalist apparel shop might lead with a clean flat-lay, while a gift shop leads with a lifestyle photo. Because mockups are chosen per shop, each listing can match the look of the shop it lands in.

Smart mockups render the design onto product photos with fabric folds, shading and light, with a background picker for flat-lay shots and a preview of every colour and side before the run. On the paid plans, your own mockup library holds your own photos with the print area set once, so each shop can keep its own photography style from run to run. Smart mockups count toward the 20 photos Etsy allows per listing.

The section works the same way: the design can go into "Teacher gifts" in one shop and "Fall sweatshirts" in another, wherever that shop's buyers browse.

After the run: every shop in one list

The listings manager, included on every plan, Free too, shows every connected shop's active and draft listings in one list, with filters and sort across the whole shop. From there you can bulk edit prices (by percent or to an exact amount), tags (up to 13), variations and the publish schedule, or bulk deactivate listings you no longer want live. Listings made before you used multi-shop runs can be copied to another connected shop as a draft. Our tour of the listings manager shows it in use.

If you would rather not have a new design appear in every shop on the same day, scheduled publishing on the paid plans queues listings to go live over time.

Which plans include multi-shop runs

Multi-shop runs are part of the paid plans: Starter at $49 a month with 500 credits, Standard at $99.90 with 1,200 credits and Pro at $169.99 with 2,500 credits. The paid plans also open scheduled publishing, your own mockup library, saved variation profiles, mockup preview, run history, the profit view and the shop report. No plan caps the number of listings. The Free plan gives 40 credits a month once a shop is connected, with the listings manager and real orders included, so you can try a run in one shop first. The plans are compared side by side on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Etsy allow more than one shop?

That is Etsy's rule to set, and Etsy can change it, so check Etsy's own policy pages before opening another shop. Alomations works with whatever shops you connect.

Does each shop pay its own listing fee?

Yes. Every published listing costs Etsy's $0.20 listing fee, so one design published in three shops means three fees.

Can I send an existing listing to another shop?

Yes. The listings manager copies a listing to another connected shop as a draft, so you can check it there before it goes live.

Is multi-shop publishing on the Free plan?

No. Multi-shop runs belong to the paid plans. The Free plan lets you run listings to your connected shop and use the listings manager and orders.

You can connect your first shop and try a listing run on the free plan.
