The style library: 90 looks without writing a prompt

How the Alomations style library works: choose one of 90 looks by family and sample images, fill in the blanks, and get print-ready art at 12 inches and 300 DPI.

The Alomations style library lets you make a t-shirt design by choosing one of 90 looks from its sample images and filling in a few blanks, instead of writing a prompt. The design comes back print-ready at 12 inches and 300 DPI, as a transparent PNG with an SVG, in light and dark versions for different garment colours.

It is built for sellers who know what a design should say but do not want to learn prompt writing to get there. A prompt rewards people who already know the vocabulary of illustration, and a small change in wording can change the whole picture. A look fixes the style, so the only thing left to decide is the content. Think of it as an AI t-shirt design generator where you choose the style by picture rather than by prompt.

Why a look instead of a prompt

A prompt has to describe two things at once: what the design shows and how it is drawn. The second part is where much of the trial and error goes, because style words are vague. "Vintage" or "hand-drawn" can mean very different things to an image model, and you only find out which one after the generation has run.

The style library separates the two. Each look already carries the style, so your input is only the content. That also keeps a collection consistent: designs made in the same look share one style, which is hard to achieve with a separate hand-written prompt for each.

If you prefer writing your own descriptions, how to describe a POD design to an AI image model covers that route. The style library is the shortcut for everyone else.

How the library is organised

The 90 looks are grouped by family, and every look shows sample images. You open a family, compare the samples side by side and pick the one closest to the design in your head. You choose by what you see, not by a style name you have to interpret. New looks are added regularly, so the library keeps growing.

Fill in the blanks, not a prompt box

Once you pick a look, you fill in its blanks: the parts that make the design yours, such as the words it should carry. There is no prompt to get right. The look supplies the style, and your answers supply the content.

Some looks return the artwork and the lettering as separate layers. You can change the headline later, for another name, another year or another phrase, without touching the picture. If you sell variations of one idea, that means editing a text layer instead of generating a new design each time.

Start from words or from a picture

Text to image builds a design from what you describe. Image to image redraws a reference image in the look you choose, through "Choose a look", which suits your own sketches or a photo you have the rights to use. The looks on offer include an anime look and an ultrasound look, which cleans a real scan so it prints well, a fit for pregnancy announcement gifts and keepsakes. Image to image: redraw a reference in a chosen look goes through that route step by step.

What you get back

Every design comes back print-ready: 12 inches at 300 DPI, which is 3,600 pixels on the long side, as a transparent PNG with an SVG alongside. 300 DPI is the resolution one print provider recommends for PNG print files, so the file is ready to upload.

You also get light and dark versions of the same design, so it reads on white garments and on black. Tone rules per garment colour decide which version each colour gets, automatically, and you can override them. A light variant turns lettering white even where it touches the drawing, and a dark variant keeps painted art and line drawings readable. Light and dark versions of a design explains when you need both.

Refine the result in the Design Editor

A look gets you most of the way, and the Design Editor finishes the job. It has layers, text with your own uploaded fonts, eraser and crop on image layers, background removal in one click, recolouring of a whole palette or a single element, outlines, and undo history with design versions. A tour of the Design Editor shows each tool.

Every design is saved to the Design Library, with folders, search and source filters for AI generated, uploaded and from automation. The Design Editor opens on paid plans, and the Free plan includes up to 4 AI images a month.

From a look to an Etsy listing

When the design is ready, it can go straight into a listing run. The run renders mockups, writes a title within Etsy's 140 characters, all 13 tags and a description, applies your template with its variations and prices, and publishes to Etsy live or as a draft. A full listing costs about 10 credits from an AI-generated design. The features page shows the whole workflow.

Before you list, follow Etsy's rule on AI. Etsy places seller-prompted AI creations in its "Designed by" category and states that "Seller-prompted AI creations must disclose the use of AI" (Etsy Help). Fill the blanks with your own ideas, too: brand names, characters, celebrities and sports teams do not belong in a design, whatever look you choose. What to check before listing an AI design has the full checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to write a prompt at all?

No. You pick a look and fill in its blanks. If you would rather describe a design in your own words, text to image takes a description as well.

How many looks are in the style library?

90, grouped by family, each with sample images. New looks are added regularly.

Can I change the text after the design is made?

With looks that return the artwork and the lettering as separate layers, yes: edit the lettering layer and the picture stays as it is. With other looks, you can add or adjust text in the Design Editor.

Are the files ready for print on demand?

Yes. Each design comes back at 12 inches and 300 DPI, 3,600 pixels on the long side, as a transparent PNG with an SVG alongside, in light and dark versions.

You can start on the Alomations free plan, which includes up to 4 AI images a month.
